We had the honor of participating in and processing the deer used in the tax tribute ceremony this year, in which Virginia’s native tribes present 2 deer and a turkey to the Governor, instead of paying taxes.
The ceremony was at 10AM today at the Virginia State Capitol Executive Mansion in Richmond. More about this event, and photos from the Richmond Times Dispatch.

Deer Processed So Far This Fall
Thanks and congratulations to all the Virginia hunters for keeping us busy processing deer during archery and black powder hunting seasons this year! We’ve never seen that many deer (297, to be exact) come through this early. We look forward to a record-breaking gun season and working hard to be your favorite place to bring your deer for processing. Thank you to all the Virginia hunters for allowing us to serve you, and happy hunting!
Update 1/10/2014: We are happy to announce that we have now processed 816 deer so far this season!
Thanks, hunters!
