Eid al-Adha 2015 coming September 23-24th

In the United States, Eid al-Adha or “Eids” (Feast of the Sacrifice) will be here the evening of September, 23, and ends the evening of September 24. Burks Farm provides slaughtering/sacrificial services in the customary Muslim traditions.

Free Deer Processing for Military – Veterans Day 2014

Burks Farm is offering all veteran, active duty, reserve duty, and National Guard personnel Free Deer Processing on 1 deer for Veterans Day 2014. We deeply appreciate your service!

Terms:

  1. Must bring deer in on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11
  2. Must present military ID
  3. Limit 1 deer per person

Hog Orders for July 4th Holiday

Burks Farm is sold out of hogs for this week, but will have plenty in stock next week. Thanks to everyone who ordered hogs from Burks Farm for the July 4th weekend with us!
Please remember to get your deposits and orders in early, especially when you’re ordering pigs for a holiday.

Mourning the Passing of George Allen

The Burks Family, with Andrew Gillan, are devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved friend George Allen on May 4th. We share in the entire Allen family’s sorrow, especially that of Kary and her four children.

Burks Farm Participates in 336th Annual Tax Tribute Ceremony

We had the honor of participating in and processing the deer used in the tax tribute ceremony this year, in which Virginia’s native tribes present 2 deer and a turkey to the Governor, instead of paying taxes.
The ceremony was at 10AM today at the Virginia State Capitol Executive Mansion in Richmond. More about this event, and photos from the Richmond Times Dispatch.
